We hope these teachings on baptism, a vital Sacramental moment in our lives, will offer some practical help and instruction. They remind us of how incredibly gifted we are to be baptised and claimed as God’s own.
We would advise that you read through both guides before booking your child’s Baptism.
To book a baptism, please contact Fr Joel.
Please note, if you haven’t had a reply after a week, you can contact the Chancery.
Important things to Remember
- You will need to know the proposed date for the baptism and details about the godparents in addition to your own personal details.
- Godparents: at least one Godparent must be a Catholic who has made the sacrament of Confirmation.
- Children should be dressed in white or cream clothing. There is a special symbolism in the colouring that will be explained to guests during the ceremony.
- Parents should ensure that a baptism candle has been purchased. A plain household candle is fine, but if you would prefer a Baptism Candle these can either be purchased locally from the Benedictine Abbey at Jamberoo (www.jamberooabbey.org.au) or from a place of your own choosing.
